Architecture, specifications and performance metrics
WP1 will identify and define all relevant architectural, organizational, regulatory and economical barriers, features and specifications arising from the EU strategic goals and vision for its future power systems, all of which will be respected during the complete project execution. In particular, it will set the stage for theoretical research carried out in WP2-WP4. WP1 will explore alternative and viable market, control and ICT architectures able to anticipate future strategic developments; will define the performance metrics used for validation of the results throughout the complete project execution; will define the main constraints on the global level and formulate the global power systems goals in terms of time-varying constrained optimization problems. Special attention will be paid to ensure that the problem formulations, and subsequently theoretical research and the developed algorithms of E-Price project, will be in conformance with the EU strategic goals and vision, and that the project outcomes will be directly oriented towards real-life implementations. Involvement of industrial partners and results of the case studies in WP6 will be instrumental in reaching the objectives of WP1. WP1 will serve as symmetric node in the E-Price work plan strategy where the outcomes of the work packages WP2-WP4 will be consolidated.
